Leadership

Jeremiah Austin/President/Creative Director

Jeremiah offers clients more than 30 years of experience conceiving, designing and managing a broad range of brand identity and marketing communications to our clients. Previously Creative Director of The Washington Agency—a top-ranked, mid-sized marketing communications and advertising agency—Jeremiah provides strategic and creative guidance to the firm.

As an adjunct faculty member of the Graphic Design program at Shepherd University, Jeremiah also instructs, guides and mentors undergraduate students in graphic design principles, conceptual development, creative approaches, software skills and professional practices.

Barbara Austin/Vice President/Account Executive

In addition to a strong background in marketing, time management and organizational training as a successful sales executive with Day Runner (a MeadWestvaco brand), Barbara possesses exceptional client relationship and communication skills. Bringing with her six years experience in Interior Design, Barbara also adds her sense of strong color and design to the creative work. Along with providing client support, Barbara ensures that schedules and budgets are met and project details are managed.

Judy Kirkland/Associate Creative Director/Copy

Judy Kirkland provides leadership in developing content and copy for DeNovo Creative. She draws on more than two decades of award-winning experience in brand development, strategic messaging, content development, and copywriting for business, academic, and government markets. Recognized as an expert on messaging, Judy specializes in helping clients develop the right messages for their brand and communicate those messages consistently and effectively across different media as well as different internal organizational units.

She has served on branding teams for clients such as Host Marriott, and created member development, fundraising and events marketing programs for dozens of trade associations and non-profits including the American Psychiatric Association, National Wildlife Federation, Insurance Institute of America, and National Mental Health Association. Judy has also written successful direct mail campaigns for publishers such as Rodale, The Berkeley Wellness Letter and the publishers of Education Daily and Higher Education Daily, as well as articles, case studies, ads and websites for corporate clients that include The Wall Street Journal, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, and Sprint.

Dan Stech/Associate Creative Director/Copy

Dan serves as our source for concept-driven copy, campaigns, and strategic messaging. With an ad agency background that spans over 20 years, Dan brings a wealth of writing and creative direction talent to the team. His expertise includes employer and enterprise branding, corporate communications, and B2B/B2C marketing.

Dan’s national account experience includes such clients as CarMax, PNC Bank, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Choice Hotels, Home Depot, Children’s National Medical Center, TD Ameritrade, and many others. His public sector work includes branding for the FBI, the NSA, IRS, U.S. Coast Guard, and Edwards AFB in California.

Prior to joining DeNovo, Dan held leadership roles as Copy Director/Associate Creative Director at Bernard Hodes Group, Copy and Creative Director of GTR Advertising, and Publicity Director and Copywriter at Nationwide Advertising Service. In addition to his creative talents, Dan is a dynamic team collaborator, relationship builder, and client advocate.

Brian Watson/Interactive Developer

Brian Watson leads Content Management System Configuration and Deployment, Custom Application Development, and Email Marketing Integration for DeNovo Creative. Brian manages systems engineering, integration, software and web development initiatives with large-scale applications on multi- platform systems. Leading innovative technology teams, he directs critical aspects of client projects, including: project team selection based on project needs and web developer skill set; software needs analysis; system feature definition; developer oversight; testing resources coordination; risk mitigation; and client satisfaction.

Brian has significant non-profit IT experience including such clients as: BlueCross BlueShield America (BCBSA), American College of Radiology, Alliance for Climate Protection, National Recreation and Park Association, and the Washington DC Economic Partnership. His commercial sector experience includes: Tyco Flow Control, Ogilvy, DIRECTV, and Lockheed Martin.
